Sky High success for DSS

This Dubai Summer Surprises has seen some extraordinary and breathtaking sights around Dubai’s key city points. DSS has an added innovative component this year which has taken the festival to new heights. For thousands of years the process of ‘Art of Light’ decoration has been used originating in South China. It has been used in destinations such as America, Europe, Canada and India for their landmark large celebrations and festivals.  Now for the first time a contemporary version with intricate décor for 2D and 3D installations has been brought to Dubai by Sky High Events. 

More than nine highly decorative illuminated scenes have been strategically installed around Dubai ranging from 8metres to 20metres in width. The magnificent and unique light structures are attractive and entertaining. They are strongly built using iron; wire and fabric with inner lighting glow; creating skillful spectacular scenes to launch all imaginations. 

The two men behind this creative hub are Wael Elebs and Mohamed Taha with their combined experience of 20 years in the business they are not new to taking on tough tasks with tight deadlines, meeting both governmental and royal guidelines. Their quest is to form strong client partnerships focusing on the clients’ directive. Taking each client’s aspiration and realizing their dreams. This DSS is no different according to Business Development Manager of Sky High Events, Wael Elebs, “2010 was a difficult year for many with the UAE not exempt from the economic downtown. That said, the climate is taking an upward curve in 2011 and for Sky High Events, it has been a year of opportunity. Winning the DSS contract and delivering such impressive and different scenes for Modhesh to feature in has shown Dubai a sample of what we can do. Just as Modhesh is amazing it is ‘amazing’ to see how these illuminations come to life.”  Moreover, “We are looking forward to a bright 2011 with the celebrations of the Holy Month of Ramadan, embracing interesting projects and defining our characteristically out-of-the-box designs that are new to this market.” 

Sky High Events has worked hard to meet their loyal clients’ database and in the first quarter of 2011 wrote business in excess of 4.6 million dirhams including DSS, corporate and private projects. 

Highlights over the past eight years have been working with numerous UAE government departments for the DSF and DSS, royal families in the GCC plus Nestle, Unilever, Wafi and Adnoc/Takreer.
