Iconic pieces for auction at 20/21 Century London Evening Sale

ALBAWABA - A photocall for the 20/21 Century London Evening Sale was held at the Christie's auction house in London on Oct. 3, 2024, with amazing pieces going on auction for a great amount of money.

From "More Woldgate Timber" by David Hockney to "Phare sur la digue" by Leon Spilliaert as well as "Hurricane Nurse" by Richard Prince, magnificent and iconic pieces were among the ones on Christie's auction.

Jeff Koons' 'Balloon Monkey (Blue)' is a standout piece from his iconic 'Celebration' series, launched in 1993. Known for its oversized interpretations of everyday objects, the series cemented Koons' status as a leading figure in contemporary art.

Following the success of 'Balloon Monkey (Magenta)', which sold for £10,136,500 in 2022, the blue version is expected to fetch between £6.5 million and £10 million at auction.  (photo by afp)
