Preparations start for Diwali 2024: The Festival of Lights

ALBAWABA - Diwali; the Festival of Lights, is celebrated globally by over 1.5 billion people, the Festival of Lights is observed annually during the Hindu lunar months of Ashvin and Kartik, which correspond to October and November. 

Followers of Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism, and Buddhism celebrate this festival, symbolizing the spiritual victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance.

Diwali is a major festival that Hindus celebrate annually. It is also known as Deepawali or Festival of Lights. Diwali is celebrated annually with great pomp. As per the Hindu lunar calendar, it falls on the 15th day of the month of Kartik - the darkest night of the year. On this day Hindus decorate their homes with diyas rangoli and twinkling lights.
