On September 29, 1916 newspapers across America announced the discovery of a wealth-creating phenomenon that was once thought to be impossible to attain: the world's first billionaire.

Over a century since the emergence of America's first billionaire the question of who will be the first to reach trillionaire status remains. At least 6 companies have achieved this milestone.

The second person expected to become a trillionaire will be the Indian Gautam Adani, founder of the Adani Group. If Adani maintains his current annual growth rate, the report says he will become a trillionaire in 2028. (shutterstock)

The fourth on the list is Prajogo Pangestu from Indonesia, the founder of the Indonesian energy and mining conglomerate Barito Pacific. The report expects Pangestu to become a trillionaire by 2028. (Forbes)

Bernard Arnault, the CEO of LVMH, who is currently the third richest person in the world with less than $200 billion, will be in fifth place. The report indicates that he will become a trillionaire at some point in 2030, along with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. (Forbes)
