Al Arabi secured the third edition of the national men’s volleyball championship for the sports season (2019-2020) after defeating Police SC three sets for two in the final match that took place on Sunday evening at the QVA Hall.
Al Arabi won 27-25, 25-21, 17-25, 23-25, 15-13.
President of the Qatar Volleyball Association and member of the Executive Office of the Arab and Asian Associations Ali bin Ghanem Al Kuwari crowned Al Arabi with the championship cup and gold medals while Secretary-General Yousef Ahmed Kanoo awarded Police SC with silver medals.
Ali bin Ghanem Al Kuwari congratulated Al Arabi for winning the third edition of the national men’s volleyball championship, praising their performance and high level of performance in the match which, he said, confirms the remarkable development of Qatari volleyball.
He added that the championship is a good opportunity for participation of players in order to raise the standard of their technical performance and also to provide them with opportunity for development, considering that the championship is greatly beneficial to all clubs.
He further said that the final of the national championship is the real beginning of the return of excitement after the suspension of sports activities as a result of the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, expecting an increase in competition in the final round of the volleyball league.
