Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has insisted that Xabi Alonso will not be leaving the club in the summer.

The Spanish coach is a top target for both Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

However, Leverkusen will do their best to ensure his stay.

Carra revealed, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano: "Xabi Alonso has a contract until 2026 and there is no reason to doubt that he will stay here.

“In football you never know what will happen but I have a lot of trust, we have a good relationship."

Alonso has guided Leverkusen to topping the Bundesliga this season with 10 points separating them from second-placed Bayern Munich.

The team is yet to lose across all competitions this season, and has reached the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals, and the DFB Pokal semis.
