In his second round at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho has yet to solve a major issue for the Blues: how to make his center forwards score. New rumors are circulating that Demba Ba could leave Stamford Bridge in January as part of a negotiation between the Blues and Galatasaray with Burak Yilmaz, Galatasaray's leading goal scorer last season, heading the other way.

Yilmaz, 28, is definitely in the prime of his career.

He caught Mourinho’s attention and other powerhouses, such as Arsenal and Lazio, after last season's incredible mark of 32 goals in 39 matches which was similar to his 2011-12 year when he scored 33 goals in 34 Super Lig appearances while at Trabzonspor.

And Mourinho has praised the center forward as capable to succeed across the globe, via Ben Jefferson from the Independent.

"Drogba, Sneijder and Burak [Yilmaz] could play for any team in the world."

Chelsea’s previous attempt to get Yilmaz

This is not the first time the Blues have pondered over bringing the talented Turkish international to London. Dominic Fifield from the Guardian reported last May that primary talks were held with Galatasaray, who tagged Yilmaz worth more than £20 million.

But that did not turn into a conclusive negotiation.

Chelsea also missed on the opportunity of acquiring a well-known and well-rounded forward during the summer transfer window. The likes of Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao were linked to Stamford Bridge, but neither was brought to put the pen down.

Instead, Samuel Eto’o filled the spot, and like Fernando Torres and Ba, the Cameroon international hasn’t scored a single Premier League goal this season.

But luckily Galatasaray remain open to talk about the future of Yilmaz.

This week the Turkish side's chairman Unal Aysal was quoted by Sky Sports saying that a formal offer hasn't come from Stamford Bridge yet, but he would be open to negotiate the player's exit whose contract expires in 2016.

"If he wants to go and Chelsea are interested then of course, why not? I favour Turkish players going to Europe to play in European leagues."

What if Chelsea Can't Secure His Services?

If negotiations with Galatasaray and Yilmaz go south, Mourinho and his staff will have to face one of these three scenarios:

1) Accept the squad as is and work a way around the center forward scoreless situation with the current team;

2) Concentrate their efforts on positioning as well as focusing strategies in a designed forward, who will start most, if not all matches;

3) Turn their attention to other targets, such as Diego Costa (leading scorer in La Liga) from Atletico Madrid or Vedad Ibisevic (Bundesliga leading scorer) from VfB Stuttgart for the January transfer window.
