Austria secured a 3-1 win over Jordan on Wednesday at Levi's Stadium, as part of the first round of the 2026 World Cup group stage.

Jordan conceded the opening goal in the first half but came back to equalize in the second half. However, Austria managed to take the lead in the end and walked away with three valuable points.

Match Highlights and Goals

The Nashama played without fear against Austrian team. The Jordanian players gave everything they had, but the Austrian team was fully focused and highly disciplined, especially in defense.

Romano Schmid opened the scoring for Austria with a brilliant shot from outside the box in the 20th minute. In the second half, Ali Olwan scored the equalizer for Jordan in the 50th minute. Later, Austria took the lead from a corner kick that hit defender Yazan Al-Arab, resulting in an own goal. In the final minute of stoppage time, Austria earned a penalty, which Marco Arnautovic successfully converted.

Argentina currently tops Group J after their 3-0 win over Algeria, followed by Austria in second place after beating Jordan 3-1.
