Colombia showed their intentions to grab their first three points right from the start. They found the net in the first half, keeping their streak of never playing a World Cup match without scoring.

Colombia opened the scoring in the 40th minute with a goal from Daniel Munoz, assisted by Luis Diaz. In the second half, Uzbekistan, who are making their first-ever World Cup appearance, managed to score their first tournament goal and equalize through Abbosbek Fayzullaev in the 60th minute.
The 1-1 scoreline didn't last long. Colombia took the lead again through Luis Diaz in the 65th minute. Near the end of the match, the Colombian team extended their lead with a third goal by Jaminton Campaz. This confirmed their well-deserved win and put them at the top of Group K, ahead of Portugal, DR Congo, and Uzbekistan.
