Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City manager, acknowledged Paris Saint-Germain’s superiority in terms of strength and speed following his team’s 4-2 defeat in a thrilling UEFA Champions League clash at the Parc des Princes.
Despite taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the first half, Manchester City couldn’t maintain their momentum. PSG roared back with four unanswered goals, showcasing an impressive attacking performance that sealed a crucial victory.
Guardiola: "PSG Were More Aggressive"
In his post-match comments, Guardiola said: “They were more aggressive. They pressed and jumped very well, and we couldn’t execute our game plan effectively.”
He added: “The connection between Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic wasn’t smooth, and we struggled with transitions. They’re faster and more dynamic than us. If we don’t defend with the ball, it’s impossible to defend well.”
Guardiola emphasized the need for his team to adapt better to high-intensity matches, highlighting ball possession as the key to neutralizing the pace and dynamism of teams like PSG.
This defeat presents new challenges for Manchester City in their European campaign while underscoring PSG’s status as one of the top contenders in this year’s competition.
