Manchester City are ready to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi in the winter transfer window.

The Cityzens lost Rodri to injury in September and have suffered tremendously due to his absence.

Therefore, they are ready to splash out for Rodri's fellow Spaniard in January.

The Sun says Sociedad are willing to sell the 25-year-old if they were to receive an offer in the region of £50m.

Zubimendi turned down a move to Liverpool during the summer, but he appears to be open to making the switch to England next year.

The midfielder has one goal and two assists in 15 appearances for the Basque club across all competitions this season.
