Many years ago in Italy, Current Manchester United leftback and French international Patrice Evra started his first team career at lowly Serie C side SC Marsala on the Island of Sicily in deep southern Italy.

After having worked his way through youth academies in France to land at Paris Saint Germain in 1997-98 he was left wanting for a new place to call home where he would be the primary choice.

During his first season with Marsala he scored six goals in 27 matches before moving to AC Monza for a short time and then returning to France to join Nice where he was scouted and brought to AS Monaco after being named to the Ligue 2 Team of the Year in 2001-02 ,and saw his career take flight.

Fastforwarding through four years at Monaco and a Coupe de la Ligue title, Sir Alex Ferguson offered the then 25-year-old the chance of a lifetime to move to Manchester United and help to rebuild the side for another long run at the top.

Evra did just that and has been a rock on the left side of defense for what is now his ninth season in Manchester, but things are looking as if this will be his final run-in and Champions League chase for the Red Devils.

With Ferguson out of the picture and David Moyes looking to make his mark and rebuild the team to his liking, Evra looks to be another veteran that will be following Nemanja Vidic out the door with the club's captain already having agreed to move to Italian side Inter Milan this summer.

Evra's agent, Federico Pastorello, was quoted by the Mirror as claiming that the Frenchman could also be heading to Italy this summer as he still believes he has several years left on his career:

"Even though he turns 33 in May, he still has another three to four seasons at the highest level in his legs.

Inter and Roma? Speaking with him, I have understood that technically Serie A is a possibility.

He is very attached to Manchester United even if recently things have changed a bit. But Evra still has not taken a final decision."

While AS Roma seems a stretch, there is definately a chance that Inter could move for Evra and see him continue his partnership with Vidic for another few years.

Both Evra and Vidic have been the primary captain and vice-captain of the side for the last few years save a few instances where Wayne Rooney was handed the armband and the bond between the two could help to sway the Frenchman to make the San Siro his final home in football.
