Oman will host African champions, Egypt, at home next Wednesday in Salalah. The match is scheduled to kick off at 9:30pm at A'saada Sports Complex and gives Salalah's football fans a chance to show their support and witness the team in action.

The team is set to start an intense training camp tomorrow with coach Paul Le Guen in Muscat before they head to the south of the Sultanate next week.

"This season we are very keen to prove ourselves on the field and prove that we are a match to anybody. We've got experienced players and fresh young talent in the team and I am confident that this season will be a great one," said the Frenchman.

With the Egypt contest, the Red Warriors will face a side that is similarly progressing in World Cup qualification, out of Africa. After two matches against Mozambique and Guinea, Egypt currently leads Group G in early African qualifying posting victories.

Oman's Olympic football team captain and Salalah native, Hussain Al Hadhri, said: "I am looking forward to playing on home soil and I am happy to be starting this season with a match played in none other than the town where I grew up and played football for many years. The team is in a good place right now and we are all training hard with Le Guen for the upcoming matches."

Tickets will be available for purchase at A'Saada Sports Complex and Shell Select in Salalah, and they will go on sale soon. Prices are RO2 for general entry tickets, RO10 for VIP and RO 25 for VVIP. Sharik members can use their Sharik card to get into the match for free.

Fans in attendance can expect a full stadium experience - including food and beverages on sale - as well as an exciting match between two countries playing excellent football of late.

In more exciting news for south Oman residents, the Oman shirt will go on sale at Asaada Sports Complex on August 15, match day. As a special Ramadan offer, all shirts will cost just RO20 - RO5 off their usual price, and anyone who buys a shirt in Salalah will receive complimentary tickets to the Oman-Egypt match.

Plus, the OFA will be giving out prizes to select fans at the match who wear their Oman football jersey!
