Mohamed Salah's agent Ramy Abbas had concerns the new agreement with Liverpool would fall through last year that have come to light in a paper released

The Egyptian star released the paper as part of a Harvard Universty study into Abbas' management via

"I am starting to fear that we may not be able to come to an agreement on a new contract, Mohamed - their latest offer is still very far from what we want," Abbas told Salah in June 2022.

However, the 31-year-old replied by saying: "We are partners. I know he will always do what is best for me.

"I want to stay with Liverpool. But the club needs to show they want me as well."

He went on to sign a deal that is valid until June 30, 2025.

Salah was linked with a lucrative move to Al-Ittihad in the final weeks of the summer transfer market, but Liverpool turned down all the approaches in the end.
