Former Inter Milan captain and current Vice President at the club Javier Zanetti paid a visit to Aspire Academy on Tuesday.
The Argentine who is a member of the Organising Committee for FIFA Competitions was received by Aspire Academy Director of Strategy, Markus Egger who along with Aspire Director of Football Performance & Science, Professor Valter Di Salvo who led the tour of the newly constructed and completed Football Performance Centre.
Speaking after the tour Zanetti said, “I am pleasantly surprised by everything that has been built in here at Aspire Academy and its simply the best training center in the world. You have everything that a Sportsman needs to develop and prepare, and I congratulate Aspire for everything you are doing here.
“I am a believer in the concept of Youth Academies because preparing youngsters for the future is important to sport therefore academies run by ideal persons will ensure the passing on of important values among them that sport can give and help them develop in the best they can be. From what l have seen, I think Qatar is ready to host the FIFA World Cup
in 2022.
“The fans from across the globe will -nd a country that is passionate about football and l believe the World Cup in Qatar will be a great edition.”
