A concert held by Lebanese singer Mariam Fares in Cairo had caused a traffic jam and chaos by her fans who formed crowds eager to enter the concert hall where she was performing. The singer had arrived an hour before her scheduled concert accompanied by her sister and concert agent Waleed Mansour.
Mariam held her performance at the Al Zahour Club in Cairo in celebration of the Egyptian spring holiday Sham Al Naseem. She sang a collection of her most popular hits like “Ana Wal Shouq” (Me and Love), “Bitrouh” (You leave) and many others.
According to the internet website MBC.net, the singer had stated that she is very happy about the stability that has returned to the streets of Egypt after the Egyptian January 25 Revolution that overthrew the government of ousted President Husni Mubarak. She said that she hopes and dreams of all the requests of the revolutionist come true.
