Zalatimo Sweets Company goes green

Zalatimo Sweets Company has adopted an environment-friendly initiative as part of its efforts to pursue responsible business processes that are in line with global priorities that aim at eliminating pollution and protecting the planet.
Zalatimo is using 100% biodegradable plastic bags that dissolve within a short period of time with the effect of D2W element. This initiative is one of the first of its kind in the Sweets & Restaurant sectors in Jordan.
The bags will be used in all Zalatimo Sweets Company branches in Shmeisani, Abdoun, Amra, Gardens Street, Abdali, and Queen Alia International Airport.
This initiative comes as part of Zalatimo’s deep understanding of the importance of taking on green initiatives that protect the nature from pollution trends in general and the effects of plastic bags in particular. This initiative is expected to be expanded and launched in all Zalatimo branches across the Middle East.
Background Information
Zalatimo Sweets Company
As a small pastry shop in Jerusalem, Zalatimo Sweets Company came to this world. Our journey started over a century ago, namely in Palestine in 1860. It all began with the “Mutabak” – a popular Arabian pastry. Mohammad Zalatimo had decided then to set up a small pastry shop in the old city of Jerusalem. The operation was kept on a small scale where Mutabak was offered as a take-away product for breakfast, in addition to a few specialty sweets that he made daily. Year after year, this one-man show proved to be very successful; he rented an adjacent shop and offered a seating area for the customers to enjoy his freshly made sweets.
