As part of its commitment to maintaining and preserving the environment, Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) has announced the launch of a cleaning campaign in Mugharrag Port in the Western Region.

The cleaning campaign is led by the operations team in the Ports Unit at Mugharrag where development of the port was completed in May . The cleaning campaign was launched in partnership with Delma Corporation and the Western Region Municipality, and aims to raise the community awareness of keeping port premises clean and minimizing the environmental damage caused to marine life by waste products that are left in the ocean and on shorelines.

Leading the campaign in the Western Region is Captain Hazzaa Al Junaibi, Harbour Master for the Western Region at ADPC, who said: “ADPC is committed in its effort of preserving the environment in Abu Dhabi through the development of world class ports. We will be rolling out similar cleaning campaigns across other commercial ports in the future to provide a cleaner and more sustainable maritime future for the Emirate.”

The Mugharrag Port will be fully manned to handle commercial cargo and will each feature a terminal building and a newly installed Vessel Traffic System (VTS) already in operation covering operations in the western region ports, along with a radar system.
