A total of 37% of Moroccan enterprises operating in the services sector are run by women, President of the Association for women heads of enterprise (AFEM) has said.
According to MAP, Saloua Karkiri Belkeziz noted in an interview published by a local daily that women run 31% of enterprises in the trade sector and 22% in industry, noting that most of these enterprises have been set up less than five years ago.
On the other hand, according to her, 30% of their activities are operated at the local level, 44% at the national level, while 21% operate in exports.
AFEM president also highlighted the need to modernize production means which would help develop products and improve their ability to compete with foreign products.
