ALBAWABA- The Abu Dhabi Business Centre (ADBC) under the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has announced the addition of 30 new activities to the Freelancer Licence, providing UAE nationals and residents with greater opportunities to pursue entrepreneurial ventures.
This expansion aligns with the evolving demands of both local and global markets, offering a broader spectrum of business activities, including AI development, electronic equipment software design, and 3D imaging production models.
ADBC's executive director highlighted the importance of this update in strengthening Abu Dhabi's economy. He noted that over 1,000 Freelancer Licences were issued last year, reflecting a growing interest in freelance work.
Al Mansouri emphasized ADDED's commitment to fostering an innovative environment, which further cements Abu Dhabi as a prime destination for talent and investment.
The Freelancer Licence now encompasses 100 activities, with eligibility requirements including relevant experience or academic qualifications.
ADDED has also established a regulatory framework to ensure compliance and support for freelancers across various sectors.
