A new law is being discussed to govern the way firms listed on the Bahrain Stock Exchange are audited. According to the GDN, independent auditors will only be allowed to audit a company's books for five years in a row.

Parliament financial and economic committee vice-chairman Jassim Abdula'al conveyed that the proposal was originally submitted by the Shura Council to the government, which has given it initial approval.
