Plans for building a major highway that would have included the demolition of 200 homes and other buildings were scrapped Monday, but property owners in the area were warned they could still be evicted under the new scheme.
According to the GDN, a land survey will now be implemented to locate alternative routes for the highway following a meeting between officials from the Northern Municipal Council and the Bahraini Municipalities and Agriculture Ministry.
