Bahraini government dismisses inflation allegations

The Bahraini government has dismissed allegations of unfair price increases. According to the GDN, the Commerce and Industry Ministry stated the kingdom's inflation rate is below international levels for both developed and developing countries.

 

Meanwhile, the Consumer Protection Affairs department said overall inflation amounted to 2.2 per cent in advanced economies between 2000 and 2005 and 3.6 per cent  in emerging and developing economies. It noted that Bahrain's inflation rate over this period averaged 0.5 per cent.
