Bayt.com’s mission has always been to improve people’s lives, and it is this mission that has made Bayt.com one of the top companies to work in the past few years.
This year, Bayt.com has decided to support engineering students at Birzeit University in Palestine with a scholarship. The scholarship covers the final year’s tuition fees of three students from the Computer Systems Engineering department. The students were selected based on their financial needs and academic record, and through the university’s own development department. In addition to covering the tuition fees in their final year at university, the scholarship will provide the students with training and internship opportunities upon completion of their degree.
In a previous interview, Bayt.com spoke to Rinad Lahlooh, one of the three students who benefited from Bayt.com’s scholarship. In this interview, Sara Shamasneh, another one of the students who were awarded this scholarship answers a few questions about her dreams and aspirations and what this scholarship means to her.
1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your background
My name is Sara Shamasneh and I am a Computer Systems Engineering student at Birzeit University. I chose this field because I am passionate about technology in general, and computers specifically. Knowledge is what drives me in life. This is why I make sure to enroll in as many workshops and training courses as possible – you’ll find me learning about website design and programming, but also exploring the world of business and how to create sound business plans. I am a very social person who likes to take part in community work and extracurricular activities. I’m also a member of my university’s Google club. I play tennis and love to draw. All in all, I’m a happy person, and I like to learn and enjoy life.
2. What is your number one career dream?
My dream career is to have my own company that provides new services to the community. As a first step, I will work hard to be a good engineer, then, I will look forward to create and manage my own business!
3. How has the Bayt. com scholarship helped you?
I believe the Bayt.com scholarship will help me embark on my professional journey and get used to the working life. The internship will give me a good experience, and will enable me to share and improve my skills and build a good career in the future.
4. Is there anything else you would like to add?
