Djibouti seaport receives boost from Jebel Ali Seaport Company

The seaport of Djibouti has undergone substantial developments, following the handing over of management and operation tasks to the UEA-based Jabel Ali Seaport Company. This company, which maintains the expertise in this field has developed the port of Djibouti, bringing it to a much higher standard of operation, especially in regard to its available services.  

 

Al-Khaleej newspaper recently reported that the Jebel Ali Seaport Company has equipped the port with two new cranes, worth an estimated total of $50 million.  

 

The local Ethiopian media has stated that as this port develops, it is coming closer to becoming one of the most competitive seaports in eastern Africa. The main objective of this company is to enable the Djibouti port to compete with the major seaports of the region, such as Mambas, Kenya and Port of Sudan. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
