The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing's Emiratization Task Force for Tourism has joined hands with the Ministry of Education and Youth, TANMIA - The National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority and The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management to launch a 2002 Career Development Summer Program (CDSP) aimed at United Arab Emirate (UAE) nationals.
The program will run through until August 20. The objectives of the course were to increase awareness among participants about the career development and employment opportunities available within the tourism sector available for UAE nationals and to enhance their skills to prepare them for jobs in this sector.
The program that is currently taking place at The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management will also feature hospitality, travel and tourism industry career guidance workshops organized by the DTCM's Training Solutions division.
Training Solutions has also arranged industry work placements for the CDSP students including site visits to the following properties – Burj Al Arab, Al Bustan, Sofitel City Centre, Jebel Ali Hotel and Le Meridien as well as trips to the Dubai Cruise Terminal, Bastakia and Gold & Diamond Park.
CDSP will also feature computer-based and other English language studies organized by The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management including the use of multimedia English software as well as MS Word, MS Powerpoint and Internet. — (menareport.com)
