Iran's health ministry announced Tuesday that, effective immediately, smoking is banned on all flights of state carrier Iran Air, the official IRNA news agency reported.

Smoking had already been forbidden on domestic routes and was allowed only on international Iran Air flights lasting longer than four-and-a-half hours. The move follows other state and private airlines worldwide, which have been moving increasingly to make air travel smoke-free. — (AFP, Tehran)
