The Head of the Egyptian Investment Authority, Mohammed Al-Ghamrawy, revealed that the giant American Intel Company has decided to open an electronic chips manufacturing plant in Egypt. According to a recent report in Al-Hayat newspaper, the price tag on this project is estimated at $1 billion, and it will provide 1,500 jobs.
Ghamrawy stated that Egypt is considering granting a “free zone” status to this project, so that it can benefit from the available incentives given to such zones.
