Iran's sugar production capacity will rise to 100,000 tons once the sugar factory of Mirza Kouchak-Khan Cultivation
and Industry Complex goes into operation.
Managing Director of the Complex Fariborz Karimizand told IRNA that the factory started operation on a trial basis late last week and would become officially operational next month.
Karimizand said the project had cost Rls 1 trillion. According to him, 8,036 hectares of lands are under sugar cane cultivation in southwestern Khuzestan province. He added that the complex also aims to set up a cattle feed production unit with 100,000 tons production capacity and a paper mill with 88,500 tons capacity. (menareport.com)
