Work on the new BD9 million Isa Town Shaikh Khalifa Sport City will begin next April, the Bahraini Works and Housing Ministry has announced. According to the GDN, the project tender has been awarded to Mohammed Jalal Construction Company in a deal worth BD9.2 million.
The city, expected to be operational in a year, will feature a main gate, a 3,550-seat stadium, in addition to a multi-purpose sport hall. Tennis courts accommodating 70 spectators will also be set up along with an indoor 50-metre-wide eight-lane Olympic pool accommodating 300 people. Additionally, a smaller eight-lane 25-metre-wide pool will also be built for up to 176 spectators.
A large parking lot for 730 cars will be built, the paper added.
