L&T Oman bags construction order

Larsen & Toubro (Oman), a Muscat-based subsidiary of L&T, has secured a Rs.96.5 crore (RO.8.210 million) order from the Ministry of Regional Municipalities Environment and Water Resources (MRMEWR) for the construction of a sewage treatment plant including a sewerage network at Willayat Nizwa, Oman.

 

The sewage treatment plant, with a capacity of 5600 cum per day, will have a sewerage network extending over 48 km. PVC pipes of varying diameters ranging from 200 mm to 560 mm will be laid for 40 km and DI pipes of 8 km will be used for pressure main and associated pumping station and related works.

Work on the project will commence in March 2006, and L&T Oman is scheduled to complete the assignment in 18 months.

 

L&T and its local subsidiaries have established a presence in the Gulf markets having executed several prestigious engineering and construction contracts including a number of high rise buildings in Dubai and a section of the proposed Asian Games Village in Doha.
