Opposition in the US to a Dubai-based firm taking control of six US ports will not deter UAE from seeking further investments there. "There is no hesitation, this will not deter the UAE from investing further," Shaikha Lubna Al Qassimi, the UAE's economy minister, said.

But, according to her, this issue could give other countries pause, UAE's economy minister has stated. According to Al Qassimi, other markets in Asia and Europe might prove more attractive to wealthy Arabs and other investors if US politics makes obstacles for commercial deals.
