Some 5,000 Bahrainis with loans from the Housing Bank may soon have their debts reduced by half. According to the GDN, MPs voted unanimously Tuesday to write off half the debts of mortgage holders who had not received any other government aid.
MP Isa Abu Al Fateh, one of members behind the proposal, stated there were 2,000 citizens with housing mortgages from the bank, while 3,000 others had cash loans to purchase houses.
