ALBAWABA - SpaceX went public with a market valuation of more than $2 trillion, making Musk not just a trillionaire over the weekend, but also richer than the next four billionaires on the Forbes list combined.
SpaceX’s debut made it the sixth-largest company in the US as it sold $75 billion in shares to public investors; consequently, it made the unimaginably rich tech mogul Musk even richer as he writes history in becoming the world's first trillionaire. The stock market debut pushed his net worth over the $1.1 trillion mark.
It seems, though, that Musk will be up there in the trillionaire cloud alone for some time, as he is now richer than all of the next four richest men combined. Yes, combined. With all of them being in tech, in fact, according to Forbes, the top six richest people in the world are in the tech industry, with nine out of the 15 richest people in the world being tech giants.
The next two on the list after Musk are Alphabet's, Google's parent company, former CEO and former President; With the runner-up being Larry Page, who was CEO of Alphabet but stepped down in 2019, remaining a board member and shareholder with a net worth of $294.1 billion, and Sergey Brin, who was Alphabet's President, also stepping down in 2019 while remaining a board member and shareholder with a net worth of $271.3 billion.
In fourth place comes Jeff Bezos, one of the most well-known billionaire CEOs, founding Amazon in 1994; his net worth is valued at $248.9 billion.

And last but not least, in fifth place comes Mark Zuckerberg, the social media maestro, founding Facebook in 2004, switching it to Meta in 2021, owning the world's biggest social media sites: Facebook and Instagram. His net worth comes in at $194.8 billion, a drop from last year's $222 billion.
And so, Musk seems far above these billionaires, able to buy them all out at once. Who will follow Musk in becoming the world's second trillionaire? Will it be one of the top four after Musk, or will it be Sam Altman of OpenAI or Jensen Huang of Nvidia, as tech and AI seem to be the moneymaker, and indeed, trillionaire-maker of our time?
