Nokia’s Vice President for Mobile Enhancements recently visited Dubai to award Techmart, Nokia’s Original Mobile Enhancements Partner, the 2005 ‘Worldwide Original Enhancement Distributor Award’, an accolade the Dubai-based company earned by helping Nokia substantially increase  its sales of mobile enhancements in the Middle and Near East.

The award, which Razvan Olosu presented to Techmart President M.P. Sharma, also celebrates the company’s success at raising awareness about the pitfalls to consumers of using fake products and dramatically lowering the counterfeit product market share in the region.

“Nokia enhancements add value and spark to the way people work, play and communicate and let them get the most out of their mobile devices. Techmart has done a stellar job at conveying these benefits, while also communicating that original products are in fact less expensive to own in the long run than fake products,” Olosu said. “This performance reinforces the importance of these markets to Nokia’s global operations and our commitment to provide consumers with the latest, industry leading enhancements and devices.”

Nokia recently announced the launch of three new Bluetooth Headsets; the tiny and stylish Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-800, the powerful Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-900 and the sleek Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-200.  These will be available in the second quarter of 2006 in approximately 2,000 stores and outlets in 12 countries across the Middle and Near East.

For his part, Sharma commented, “It is a pleasure to work with a global mobile communications leader such as Nokia and an honour to receive this recognition. Our efforts are immeasurably eased because consumers recognize that Nokia enhancements offer a high-quality mobile experience through top-quality reliable products.”

Nokia appointed Techmart in 2002 to distribute its enhancements and offer after-sales service. Unlike fake goods, all enhancements supplied by Techmart carry a 12-month warranty, while batteries have a six-month warranty. Each enhancement distributed by Techmart carries a secret batch code and expiry, through which an original Nokia product can be identified.
