Oman and Qatar signed on Sunday an agreement for the establishment of a joint investment company at a cost of 300 million Qatari riyals (appx. USD 82.5 million).

Speaking to reporters following the 10th Oman-Qatar committee meeting during which the agreement was signed, Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Energy and Industry Abdullah bin Ahmad Al-Attiyah said that the two governments will provide 20 percent each of the project's budget.

The remaining 60 percent will be equally distributed between the private sectors in the two countries, he explained.
