Abu Dhabi University Launches Three New IT Initiatives

Abu Dhabi University (ADU), an internationally recognized academic institution for quality education and applied research, has launched three new IT initiatives which will improve lecture capabilities and connectivity across its campuses in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai and also increase communication efficiencies in different ways.
The university has introduced a new concept of delivering collaborative architecture for inter-campus lectures which will provide closer-to-real classroom experience for students via a state-of-the-art unified video and audio communication platform. ASK ADU is an improved helpdesk system that provides students one-stop shop online-experience for IT and student affairs services. EMAIL FOR LIFE will keep ADU connected with its current students, alumni, and future students with their alma mater’s email address.
Sherif Mousa, Interim Vice Chancellor at Abu Dhabi University said: “Education is currently undergoing a strong shift in terms of framework, teaching and learning approaches. Developing the right educational curriculum and educational tools is important in this time of change, as we support government efforts in the educational sector. These tools will help to empower young Emiratis and create the right framework and culture for the next generation to keep pace with the rapid changes in technology.”

With the launch of ADU’s IT initiatives, the University aims to contribute to the UAE’s sustainable economic development and boost the nation’s ongoing transformation into a diversified knowledge-based economy. ADU launched the initiative programs to provide a world-class educational experience to the high demand for its academic programs. Offering more than 40 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs, ADU currently hosts more than 7,000 students of 70 nationalities across its three campuses.

The dream began with the Charter of Abu Dhabi University in the year 2000, After three years of planning, the university opened its doors in September 2003, to an entering class of 1,000 students on its two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Unlike other colleges and universities in the UAE, ADU undertook the measures necessary to ensure that all of the degree programs it would offer had secured accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in advance of any students enrolling in them.
