Jotun, one of the world’s leading producers and distributors of paints and powder coatings, will showcase the value its advanced portfolio of protective coatings solutions can create for the local petroleum industry, at the 2014 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), held under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, from 10 to 13 November.

A global leader in protective coatings, Jotun will present innovative concepts that enable offshore local operators protect their assets against jet fires, ensuring compliance with stringent international offshore safety standards. This is particularly important as the Middle East region has recently set up numerous offshore projects, with the aim to diversify economic resources and reduce its reliance on oil and gas.

As a brand sponsor of the event, Jotun will showcase at its stand its complete concept of anti-corrosion and fire protection, including Jotachar JF750; its mesh-free passive fire protection (PFP) coating that is designed to reduce installation time and material costs on offshore and onshore assets. It is the only mesh-free epoxy intumescent coating solution available in the market where jet fire protection is required for safety critical steel structures, divisions and vessels.

“ADIPEC is a strategic platform for Jotun’s protective coatings unit and we have always had a strong presence and participation at the event that is dated back to 2008. This year, we look forward to meet with customers and stakeholders to demonstrate how our infrastructure concepts can meet the demands and requirements of local offshore operators who require strong protection for their assets,” stated Venkat Krishnan, Marketing Manager, Jotun Protective Coatings (MENA).

“With the rapid infrastructure growth taking place in UAE and wider Middle East, we have witnessed robust growth for our protective coating solutions and we anticipate this trend to gain further traction as massive expansion projects will continue to develop in the region over the next three decades,” he added.

ADIPEC is ranked amongst the top three exhibitions and conferences dedicated to the Oil & Gas and petroleum industries on a global scale. With more than 1,800 exhibiting companies and over 60,000 oil & gas professionals, ADIPEC provides industry experts with an ideal platform to exchange knowledge and showcase the latest innovations that are designed specifically for the fast evolving energy sector in the Middle East.
