Emirates steel honored by the Arab League

Emirates Steel was honored by the Arab League’s Arab Organization for Administrative Development (Arado) in a ceremony staged in Dubai. The event was held under the auspices of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, and attended by Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
At a gala dinner held recently at Burj Khalifa Armani Hotel, Emirates Steel was awarded the Gold Medal for Excellence and Quality in the Arab World. Mr. Mubarak Al Khaili, Emirates Steel’s Vice President of Commercial Strategy, who received the medal and certificate, said “it’s a great honor to receive this accolade”. He added that he was pleased that Emirates Steel was part of the Tatweej Academy for Excellence program, which aims at highlighting the role and achievements of leading figures and institutions within various sectors in the Arab world. In Emirates Steel’s case, the award was given in recognition of the Company’s leading role in the steel sector. Emirates Steel is the largest integrated steel manufacturer in the UAE. Fourteen local and Arab figures and 31 institutions with clear imprints in the fields of excellence and quality were awarded.
Dr. Refaat Faouri, Arado’s Director General, pointed out that this event was held at a time when the Arab world was going through a difficult impasse. He viewed the award ceremony as a step in the right direction towards the recognition of the significant efforts exerted by various personalities and institutions in the Arab world that were able to achieve success despite the impasse.
Mr. Pierre Moukarzel, Founder of the Tatweej Academy for Excellence and Quality and Founder of the Pan Arab Web Awards Academy, highlighted that the awards program portrays a positive image of distinguished personalities and organizations in the Arab world. He said that the program aims at emphasizing on the role these personalities and organizations play in advancing quality and adhering to internationally recognized standards.
