Goodyear has announced today that Ford has selected its Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 235/40 R18 956 XL for its new Ford Focus ST.

First launched at the beginning of 2011, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 is a benchmark for ultra high performance car tires. With Goodyear's revolutionary ActiveBraking Technology the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 increases the road contact when braking, delivering three meters shorter braking on wet roads and two metres shorter on dry roads[1]. It also provides increased mileage and reduced rolling resistance, cutting fuel costs and CO2 emissions.

“The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric is our flagship product, providing greater performance in all driving conditions, which makes it especially suitable for the region's road and weather conditions, particularly during the dry summer time,” commented Mitchell Peeters, General Manager, Goodyear Middle East and Africa.

The third generation of Focus ST has been completely redesigned around a new athletic shape. This sporty car focuses on safety while providing a quiet interior. It is equipped with a technological mastery to keep the driver connected to the rest of the world and a cornering assist system that puts the torque where the traction is. Press reviews have praised the new Focus ST as a winning combination between a car for the daily driver as well as a performance machine.

Goodyear launched its Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 in 2011, and it has become one of the company’s most successful products in both OEM and replacement markets.
