Lulu Group Partners With World Economic Forum on Food Security

Lulu Group International has partnered with the World Economic Forum (WEF) in line with its new vision for agriculture initiative, a project on shaping the future of food security.
The initiative is to build inclusive, sustainable, efficient and nutritious food systems through leadership-driven, market-based action and collaboration, informed by insights and innovation, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, Lulu Group said yesterday.
The System Initiative engages over 600 organisations to strengthen food system and translate global-level commitment in to action on the ground. It is built around the New Vision for Agriculture (NVA), which advances food security, environmental sustainability and economic opportunity through a market-based and multi-stakeholder approach.
It aims to strengthen global food systems by strengthening country-led multi-stakeholder collaboration in 21 partnerships including in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Organisations like LVMH Moet Hennessy - Louis Vuitton, Nestle SA, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and PepsiCo Inc. are the other major companies partnered with this initiative.
WEF’s new Vision for Agriculture Initiative has mobilised $10.5bn in investment commitments, of which over $2.5bn has been implemented, catalysing over 90 value-chain partnerships and benefiting over 10.5 million farmers to date. The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2018, which will take place on 23-26 January in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, will convene under the theme: “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World”.
The annual meeting in Davos remains a global platform unmatched in bringing together more than 2,500 leaders from 100 countries across business, government, international organizations, academia and civil society in over 400 working sessions to set an agenda that drives greater multi-stakeholder collaboration to address political, economic and societal challenges of our times.
The annual meet will focus on strengthening cooperation and renewed commitment to international collaboration as a way of improving the state of the world by solving critical global challenges.
A delegation from Lulu Group led by the Chairman and Managing Director Yusuffali M A, accompanied by his team including Ashraf Ali M A, Executive Director, Mohamed Althaf, Director, and Adeeb Ahamed, Managing Director of Lulu International Exchange and Twenty14 Holdings are attending the global.
