Memac Ogilvy sponsors TEDxBeirut

Memac Ogilvy has announced its sponsorship of TEDxBeirut, aconference aimed at helping the spread of great ideas and innovative concepts,under the theme ‘From Limitation to Inspiration’held on Saturday, 24 September 2011 at the Berytech Technological Pole in Mkalles.
As a leader in the communications and creative field in the Middle East, the company welcomed the opportunity to participate and give its support to the first event of its kind in Lebanon.

TEDx is a program of local self-organized events that brings people together to share a TED-like experience. TED, which stands for Technology Entertainment and Design, is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading.
Started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, TED has grown to support world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Their talks are then made available, free of charge, at TED.com.
International TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, NandanNilekani, Philippe Starck, NgoziOkonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The annual TED Conference takes place in Long Beach, California, with simulcast in Palm Springs; TEDGlobal is held each year in Oxford, UK.
TEDxBeirut hosted many local and international speakers that included young entrepreneurs, creative minds, as well as champions of Education and Technology. The conference attracted approximately 600 participants.
