New York University Abu Dhabi Students win ADNOC-Bloomberg Economic Research Challenge at ADIPEC 2021

A team of five students from New York University Abu Dhabi have won the ADNOC- Bloomberg Economic Research Challenge at ADIPEC 2021, organized as part of the ADNOC-Bloomberg Education Initiative.
The team members include Anne-Maria Salmela, Joanna Daniela Jagodzinska, Oxana Dmitriyenko, Aya Abu Ali and Vanessa Abou Kors.
The challenge is the first university economic research competition to take place in the UAE using the Bloomberg Terminal®. Students from NYU-AD, Abu Dhabi University and UAEU mimicked global economists in a competition to compile research papers using the latest economic indicators and research tools on the Bloomberg Terminal. The teams analyzed the oil price outlook and its impact on specific sectors and the broader economy. A panel of judges from Bloomberg and ADNOC picked the winner paper based on number of criteria, including the demonstration of sound analysis. The winning team will have the opportunity to spend time with Bloomberg and ADNOC executives at each firm’s offices, gaining firsthand experience.
The ADNOC-Bloomberg Education Initiative, presided over by the Ministry of Education, is designed to equip the future workforce to navigate capital markets, securities and asset classes, from fixed income to equities, to foreign exchange, commodities and derivatives.
