Samsung introduces new technology in refrigerators with 10-year warranty that keeps food fresher longer and consumes less energy

Samsung Gulf Electronics, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, recently announced the launch of its new innovative technology, the Digital Inverter Compressor, guaranteed to keep foods fresher for longer as well as operate on less energy. Samsung’s Digital Inverter Compressor will be included in select Samsung refrigerators and will come with a 10-year warranty, a world’s first for refrigerators and will apply globally.  

Earlier this month, Samsung conducted a survey to better understand consumer food waste habits and the features consumers look for when purchasing refrigerators. The survey, conducted in the UAE, saw 62% of UAE residents surveyed throw away food at least once a month. A whopping 32% surveyed throw away food at least once a week. A majority of those surveyed, over 70%, were keen on having a refrigerator that keeps fresh for a longer period of time as well as a refrigerators that were energy efficient. 

“Consumers look for durability and performance when they purchase long term products such as refrigerators. The Digital Inverter Compressor Technology that we introduced addresses consumer needs as it operates on optimum cooling capacity, promising fresher food for a longer period, reduces electricity bills because it requires less energy to operate; and comes with a 10 year warranty,” said Mr. Robin Kadyan, Sales Manager of Digital Appliance Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics. 

Samsung’s Digital Inverter Compressor utilizes a smart controller and five convenient RPM speeds, delivering up to 40 percent more energy efficiency and significantly reduces noise than models with similar food storage capacities. As a result, the compressor precisely adjusts cooling performance based on daily refrigerator use and temperature levels, both internal and external. These technologies maximize the freshness of food and reduce overall carbon dioxide production, a smart solution to reduce energy consumption while preserving the environment. 

In addition, Samsung’s Digital Inverter Compressor technology monitors temperature levels, making adjustments to its RPM speed; therefore, significantly reducing noise. 

The Digital Inverter Compressor is available in models ranging from 500 liters to 630 liters capacity at a price range of AED 2099 to AED 2699.
