Samsung Levant sponsors 2011 World Cyber Games

Samsung Electronics Levant announced its official sponsorship of Jordan’s second International World Cyber Games Championship, which is scheduled to start on the 13th of October 2011, at Zara Expo.

The 3 day championship is organized by the World Cyber Games Union in Jordan, and is sponsored by Samsung and a number of Jordanian organizations in the field of video games and information technology.

Guests attending the championship will have the chance to visit Samsung’s booth and enjoy an interactive experience of the latest games on Samsung’s state of the art technologies and TV screens. Commenting on their participation in the event, Mr. Sang Sok Roh, Samsung Levant President said, “The world of cyber games is definitely one of the fields that illustrate Samsung’s advanced technologies and innovations. It allows it to demonstrate a high level of interactivity and extreme clarity resulting in an exceptional experience. We look forward to young Jordanian talents’ participation and their qualification to participate in the International World Cyber Games in Korea, home of Samsung’s innovation”.

Kick starting on Thursday; the inaugural event shall begin with short videos on the World Cyber Games, and a rundown of the championship schedule for the upcoming three days on the latest and most popular games among professional and amateur players alike. Games such as Warcraft III, Starcraft 2, Tekken 6, Counter strike, FIFA 2011, League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Asphalt 6, Angry Birds, Guitar Hero 5 and many more.

Non competing attendees will also get the chance to enjoy the event and play various PC, mobile and XBox games such as football and car racing. In addition to enjoy various entertaining shows such as DJ and Pete Box shows, as well as the chance to enter in a draw to win various prizes.

Mohammad Kanakry, President of WCG Jordan commented on the championship by saying, “We thank all our supporters from the public and private sectors who helped in preparing for this event. We especially thank Samsung for their support in providing us with the latest technologies and innovations to ensure a successful championship filled with excitement and interactivity.”

“Winners of this championship will represent Jordan in the international WCG finals to be held in Korea on the 8th of December of this year.” He also added.

On the last day of the championship, highlights of the qualifying rounds will be displayed and the winners participating in the international WCG in Korea will also be announced.
