Samsung supported the Amman International Marathon

For the third consecutive year, Samsung Electronics Levant, concluded its official sponsorship of the Amman International Marathon; the highly anticipated and successful annual event that attracts Jordanians and non-Jordanians from different sectors and ages, in addition to the great media presence and coverage. 

In the 2011 Samsung Amman International Marathon, Samsung launched its “Run to Support Education” campaign. The campaign which aims at supporting the educational system and facilitating the needed tools for less fortunate and orphaned children is derived from Samsung’s “Hope for Children” global campaign. 

Mr. Sang Sok Roh, President of Samsung Electronics Levant expressed his enthusiasm towards the marathon and the initiative, he said, “We at Samsung Electronics continuously support such events, as they are important for the country for two main reasons; as it promotes for a healthier lifestyle and places Jordan on the sports tourism map, which in turn is of great value to the tourism and economy.” He also added, “On behalf of Samsung Electronics, I would like to thanks all the parties that participated and contributed to the success of this annual event.” 

 As the official sponsor of the marathon, Samsung’s employees, dealers and partners from across the region participated in the marathon on Friday the 28^th of October. 

Firas Abu Zahra, one of the 3^rd Samsung Amman International Marathon participants expressed his joy saying: "it was a great opportunity for me and my friends to participate in the Marathon to support a great cause, and I thank the sponsors and the organizers for making this experience memorable as we've witnessed the beauty of Amman while taking part in the Marathon". "while we value Samsung's 'Book of Hope' gesture allowing us to express  our support to children in need by sending them messages of hope and distributing a book in behalf of each runner" , he added. 

To kick start the “Run to  Support Education” initiative, Samsung displayed a collection box at the marathon village in the King Hussein Park, whereby registering participants dropped of encouraging statements to the less fortunate children given with each Samsung donated book in the “Book of Hope” initiative. The initiative was also displayed online, on the Samsung Electronic Facebook group page, to receive more encouraging statements. 

It is worth noting the 3^rd Annual Samsung Amman International Marathon, was sponsored by Samsung as the official sponsor, and in collaboration with the Greater Municipality of Amman. And had attracted many participants who are sports enthusiast from 70 countries from the region and the world.
