Sharjah Airport Authority Organises a Tour for Members of the Emirates Association of the Visually Impaired

Sharjah Airport Authority’s Support Services Department coordinated with AirArabia to organise a tour for 16 members of the Emirates Association of the Visually Impaired in order to familiarise them with aircrafts’ safety and security procedures.

This tour is one of many initiatives made by Sharjah Airport Authority to assist people with visual disabilities to overcome any obstacles when they travel by air, and to involve these people more in the social everyday activities, as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

During the training session, a number of senior AirArabia staff provided a detailed and practical explanation of the emergency safety and security procedures that are followed on aircraft to protect passengers and crew, to ensure the safety of the flight and to maintain the aircraft arrival schedule. The people on the tour appreciated the session.

Sharjah Airport Authority is keen to provide all means of help and support to their customers and passengers with disabilities from the moment they arrive at the airport until they board the plane.
