Lebanese-headquartered Silkor laser medical center will attend the UAE’s largest career fair tomorrow in a bid to recruit 75 female Emirati and Expat graduates that are key to its GCC expansion plan.

The company, staffed by a wholly female workforce, recently opened new treatment centres in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Ras Al Khaymah and has plans to open two more in the next year – but say that the success of its growth plan rests on recruiting female talent to help the predominantly Lebanese company tailor its treatment programmes toward the local culture and to fill staffing demands.

Silkor will seek to connect with graduates at NAJAH education, training and careers fair, which opens tomorrow (18 October) at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).  They plan to counsel the graduates about the lucrative career opportunities in nursing, medical administration, dermatology and plastic surgery – career paths that would ultimately lead to a position with Silkor.

Lara Tarakjian, Executive Director and Board Member at Silkor Holding, says that the company’s all-female environment is an attractive draw for enthusiastic, hard working women who may have cultural concerns about working in a mainstream, mixed-gender environment.

Now in its fifth year, NAJAH will host an exhibitor line-up of more than 130 employers, education providers and training institutes looking to meet thousands of graduates and high school leavers contemplating their future career direction and educational aspirations.  The UAE Presidential Guard – diamond sponsor for the event – is also looking to recruit Emiratis.

Other sponsors include ADNOC, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), Alhosn University, Ajman University and Zayed University. Official supporters include the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, the Abu Dhabi Education Council, the Emirates Nationals Development Programme, AIESEC, Dubai International Academic City, and Tanmia.

This year visitors will be able to connect with industry professionals in a series of dedicated career workshops that will provide students with vital information and advice to guide them on their education or career paths.

NAJAH is free to attend and runs from 18 to 20 October, open from 10:00am to 7:00pm at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.  On the last day there will be extended opening hours until 9:00pm.
