Dubai’s Al-Futtaim Travel has been named an affiliate of the Chicago-based global travel industry service provider, Synergi Inc, which at the same time made Dubai the headquarters of its Middle East group, reported Gulf News.
As part of its new regional strategy, Synergi is planning to hold a meeting for its Middle East affiliates in Dubai in October, and also will open a training center in the emirate.
The company now operates in 44 countries, with the United Arab Emirates and Egypt its only Middle East members at present. Nonetheless, according to Synergi’s managing director,Gregory O'Neil, discussions are currently underway with travel firms in Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Jordan, and results are expected in the next 30 days.
Synergi is a joint venture enterprise of travel management companies. It has a combined annual turnover of over $10 billion, with over 10,000 employees in 3,000 offices worldwide. ― (MENA Report)
