The company stated the recall of approximately 239,000 vehicles in the US due to technical issues with the rear-view cameras in the 2024 and 2025 Model 3 and Model S, as well as the 2023 and 2025 Model X and Model Y.
Tesla explained that a reverse current may occur while the car is running, potentially causing a short circuit in the vehicle’s computer board and disabling the rearview camera, according to Reuters.

The company also stated that this technical issue may result from a combination of specific software and hardware configurations, along with cold temperatures in many regions. Tesla is working on updating the vehicles’ software to prevent the electrical malfunction.
It is worth noting that this recall comes shortly after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a US government agency within the Department of Transportation responsible for automobile safety regulations, began investigating approximately 2.6 million Tesla vehicles in the country.
The company has been facing multiple reports of accidents related to Tesla cars’ remote-moving feature, which allows users to control their vehicles via mobile appications and other technologies.
